TEMPORARY WALLPAINTING PROJECT | 2005-2006
In his “Temporary Wallpainting Project“, Thomas Thiede created twelve mural paintings in
different public places or in locations that are not commonly used to present works of art.
These twelve murals were generated during the course of the year 2005, one painting each month.
All of them were presented only for a short period of time and were repainted (after one month at
the most) to leave a neutral surface. Thomas Thiede thereby created for himself an experimental
environment open to external influence: in contrast to a studio environment, in this project the
various influences of the different locations on the works of art gain in importance (such as for
example the architectural space or the social context of the immediate surroundings).
The theme of the mural series is "Groove Animals without Pedigree -2005“.
